Looking back at some amazing trips of 2017!
You will have noticed over the months that I am a huge fan of travelling. Being a teacher I have got plenty of holidays to do this. Going away means a change of place and Seneca already said: “Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” Today I share some photos of my 2017 travels with you and I provide you with 3 excellent reasons to go away yourself!

Last summer we spent our holidays in Denmark. On the above photo you can see one of the most famous sights of Jutland, Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse. It’s a well known tourist attraction and absolutely worth visiting. The lighthouse was specifically built on the highest part of the coastline to warn ships at sea. Normally you always make sure that your fundaments are such that they can support your building for a very long time. In the case of this lighthouse, location was more important than a fundament on solid rock. Understandable, but the shifting sands and the erosion caused by wind and sea pretty soon had a decaying building as a result. What you see on the photo is the remaining part of the lighthouse. The rest is buried. If you like what you see, go and visit this place in the near future, since they expect the lighthouse to fall into the sea in 10-15 years time.
The romantic print of my sweater (Tally Weijl) matches well with the romantic vibe of Frederiksborg castle.
Close to Copenhagen there are three castles absolutely worth visiting. We decided to combine all three for a daytrip during our stay in Copenhagen last summer. Kronburg was the one I absolutely wanted to see. It is one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. My main reason for going there was another one though. Kronburg is known as Elsinore in William Shakespeare’s legendary play Hamlet and during the summer months a theatre group was performing scenes of the play in the castle itself. I just had to take the opportunity to enjoy some Shakespeare there!
Kronburg Castle. On the day of our visit, the weather was as dark as Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

For those of you who would like to add a statement piece to an outfit, but who prefer to refrain from necklaces (which I can imagine if you are a kindergarten teacher for example), a pullover like this one would be a perfect choice. The black lace works like a necklace. It adds that little extra to a comfy and simple sweater and the lace drags the eyes upward, which is a valuable little extra for petites like me.
