Being a bit British for the Royal Wedding

T-shirt: Pepe Jeans, Trousers: Jacqueline de Yong, Jeans Jacket: Yes or No, Shoes: Vans, Sunglasses: Cerjo (all previous seasons)

With the Royal Wedding taking place tomorrow, I thought I just had to show you something British this week. Have you spotted it on the photo?

Since the photos were taken in The Netherlands, it’s not the lovely country house, although this house reminds me a lot of series like Downton Abbey and Pride & Prejudice. It’s also clearly not the colour scheme of my outfit (if you want to see a British colour scheme, click here for shades of red from London or here for some British red, white and blue). It’s really only a small detail in my outfit…

The T-shirt that I am wearing shows the Union Jack!

T-shirts can be casual or classy; it really depends on how you style them. As soon I saw this T-shirt I just had to buy it. As an English teacher I love the print of course, but the original colour scheme of the flag did it for me.

I am a huge fan of black clothes, since they are so easy to style with many other colours. The black on black combination (T-shirt, trousers and shoes) makes me look taller than I am. The cropped jeans jacket helps creating an illusion of length as well, plus it adds something extra to the otherwise rather black outfit. A great holiday outfit, perfect for petites and one that is apt for the classroom too.

What do you think of this combination?

PS: I have written an article linked to the Royal Wedding about values and setting goals. It’s on my Petite Teacher facebook when you’re interested in reading that as well!

    1. Hi Nancy. That is soooo cool, going to the UK tomorrow!!! I am sure you will feel some of the vibes of this wedding, even if you’re elsewhere in the UK than in good old Windsor. My T-shirt is great, right? It’s from Pepe Jeans and a real tight fit (and that for a petite like me). Wishing you a fabulous time in the UK. Love, Lieske

  1. The castle is certainly very British. I love your outfit today. The graphic T is spot on and the denim jacket is perfect. I have been swept up in the drama of the wedding a bit. . It is just so nice to see something positive and romantic right now. I really love this post and your photos are fairytale perfect.

    1. Dear Elle. I also watched the wedding and it was positive and romantic indeed. Talking about fairytale perfect; that was certainly the case in Windsor. Have a great week! Love, Lieske
